Integration · Akute Health
Recupra + Akute Health: one API key, and the schedule starts refilling.
Akute is the lightest setup of any integration Recupra ships. One API key from your developer settings, and Recupra reads your providers, appointment types, and real availability endpoint.
No call. No credit card. Plug-and-play setup in 5 minutes.
The integration
How Recupra works with Akute Health
Akute Health is a modern, API-first EHR used mostly by direct-care and virtual primary-care practices. It publishes a real availability endpoint, which matters more than it sounds: an outreach agent that has to reconstruct open times from office hours will eventually offer a patient a slot that is not there.
The trade on Akute is on the write side. Its API can cancel an appointment, but it records neither a confirmation flag nor a free-text note on the appointment, so Recupra is deliberately quieter about what it claims to have written back.
What frees a slot in Akute Health
- Cancelled
- No-show (optional)
A status without a label triggers a recovery call by default. The ones marked optional stay off until you turn them on.

Side by side
In a membership practice, the call is the product.
What makes an Akute practice different
Akute is built for practices that left insurance behind. Panels are small, the patient pays the practice directly, and the relationship is the thing being sold rather than the visit.
That changes what a missed appointment means. A no-show in a fee-for-service clinic is a lost fee. A no-show in a membership practice is an early sign that a member is drifting toward not renewing.
What Recupra has to get right here
A generic recovery call would do more harm than the missed visit. In a practice a member pays for personally, outreach that sounds like a call centre undermines the exact thing they are paying for.
So the agent takes its register from your configuration, opens with the person rather than the appointment, and hands anything clinical to you. The goal is a member who feels looked after, and the rebooking follows from that.
Vocabulary
Recupra speaks Akute Health
Your agent uses the words your staff already use, so nothing on a call sounds translated.
- Patient → Member
- Recupra uses whichever your practice uses, set once in configuration.
- Provider → Provider
- In a small panel the patient usually asks for one by name.
- Appointment type → Appointment type
- Read from Akute so an offer is always bookable.
Setup
Connecting Akute Health takes one sitting
- 01
Generate an API key
Akute issues the key under Settings, then Developer. That is the entire credential. There is no OAuth round trip and no separate sandbox host to select.
- 02
Recupra reads your catalog
Providers, appointment types, and availability come back on the first sync, so your contact rules are built from real values rather than free text you have to spell correctly.
- 03
Pick your trigger statuses
Cancelled fires a backfill by default. No-show is available and stays off until you enable it.
On the phone
A check-in, not a recovery script
A member missed a visit. The call opens with the person, because in a membership practice that is the point.
- Agent
Hi, this is the practice. We had you booked yesterday and missed you, so I wanted to check in rather than just rebook you.
- Patient
Thanks. It was a rough week, to be honest.
- Agent
I am sorry to hear that. Would it help to get something on the calendar while you have a moment? There is Thursday morning or Monday afternoon.
- Agent
Thursday morning. I will let your provider know you have had a hard week, so they have that going in.
The agents
Every agent runs on Akute Health
The roster does not change per EHR. Whichever system you run, you choose which of these to turn on.
Waitlist Agent
A slot frees up and the agent calls the best-matched patient from your list, then books them in.
No-Show Agent
A patient misses a visit and the agent calls inside your window, finds out why, and reschedules.
Reminder Agent
Upcoming visits are confirmed on the channel each patient answers, so the miss surfaces early.
Intake Agent
A new inquiry gets a call back in minutes, qualified and booked into a real opening.
Follow-Up Agent
A patient who leaves without the next visit in their plan booked is called while the plan is still open.
Reactivation Agent
Dormant patients get a warm check-in calibrated to their care history, not a sales pitch.
Admin Agent
Reschedules, hours, and routine questions are resolved on the inbound line without staff.
The platform
Outcome-based, HIPAA-compliant, no migration
Recupra runs a diagnostic on your real clinic data, shows where revenue is leaking in dollars, and lets you activate the agents you want, paying only when they recover real revenue. See the outcome-based pricing, read how it works, or compare every EHR integration.
Akute Health stays the system of record. Recupra never migrates your data.
Akute Health FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What do I need to connect Akute Health?
A single API key from Akute's developer settings. There is no OAuth flow, no separate sandbox host, and no data migration.
Can Recupra confirm an Akute appointment?
Not inside Akute. Akute records no confirmation flag on an appointment, so Recupra tracks the patient's confirmation on its own record and never writes a confirmation that Akute would not show.
Does Recupra know which times are actually open in Akute?
Yes. Akute publishes an availability endpoint and Recupra reads it, rather than reconstructing open time from configured office hours.
